The fool who looked to the sky and forgot the way was a man known in his village for his funny mistakes.
So this is the story of the fool who looked to the sky

The spark had faded, and the arguments were constant. During the session, the therapist looked at the woman and asked her:
“So, madam, what’s the problem?” And that’s when the drama began! π The woman launched into her monologue.
Why the Fool Who Looked to the Sky Forgot the Way
She went all the way back to 1989:
“Doctor, listen. On our wedding day, he forgot my birthday.
In 1992, he forgot our wedding anniversary.
In 1998, he went out with his friends and left dinner cold.
In 2005, he told me I’d gained weight.
In 2010, he forgot the birth of our daughter⦔ It was a long list of grievances, spanning 35 years.
The therapist took notes. The woman was crying. A deathly silence filled the room. The therapist wiped away the sweat and said, “Okay, I understand.
Your turn now, sir. What is YOUR problem? Why are you so quiet?” He looked at the therapist and said very calmly,
“Doctor, I have absolutely no problemβ¦
When I learned we were coming to therapy, I thought: Perfect.
This is the perfect opportunity to get out of the house, come here, and find some peace and quiet.
Because there isn’t any left at home.” π The therapist fell off his chair, bursting into laughter.
And the woman⦠she was already starting a new list of 35 years. Plus one. Morale:
Men don’t always run away from their responsibilities. Sometimes they just want to spend 10 minutes without asking themselves questions like “why”, “where” and “with whom” π

Who was supposed to buy the bread?
Why is one of us always five minutes late?
Who controls the TV remote?
Why did someone move something and forget to mention it?

There once lived a very simple man, and the people in his village knew him as “The Fool” because he often acted strangely and did things no one would have imagined. Whenever he left his house, the villagers would watch him from afar, laughing because they knew something funny was bound to happen to him.
One sunny morning, The Fool left his house wearing his old clothes and carrying his small walking stick, which he liked to use when walking along the road. He looked very happy, as if he were going somewhere very important.
He stepped out of his house and gazed at the sky for a long time. Then he started walking, his head held high, looking at the clouds and watching the birds flying above him.
He passed by a man who asked him, “Why are you looking at the sky all the time?”
The Fool replied, “When I walk along the road, I have to know what’s above my head. A cloud, a bird, or something else might fall on me.”
The man laughed and said, “But you also have to know what’s in front of your feet.”
The Fool thought for a moment and then said, “Don’t worry, I know the way very well.”
Then he continued walking, looking up again.
The path he was walking on was an old one, winding through fields. It had several potholes left by the old rains, and most people knew where they were and avoided them. But the fool lived as if in his own world, oblivious to everything around him.
As he walked, gazing up at the sky, he saw a large bird flying above him. He followed it with his eyes, saying, “How beautiful that bird is! How can it stay in the sky without falling?”
While he was talking to himself, he didn’t notice the pothole in front of him.
Suddenly, his feet disappeared from beneath his body, and he fell into the pothole.
A loud crash echoed through the area, followed by silence.
The fool was inside the pothole, looking up, bewildered and not knowing what had happened.
He said, “Oh dear, what has happened to me?”
Then he tried to move and found himself sitting in the dirt.
He raised his head and looked at the edge of the pothole. He said, “It seems the ground suddenly rose up in front of me.”
One of the nearby farmers heard him and laughed. He said, “The ground didn’t rise up, you fool! You just weren’t looking where you were going.”
The fool said, “I don’t think so. I was looking at the sky.”
The farmer said, “That’s why you fell into the hole.”
The fool thought for a moment, then said, “Perhaps the sky is the reason.”
The farmer laughed and said, “How could the sky be the reason?”
The fool said, “Because it made me look at it.”
The farmer helped him out of the hole. The fool brushed the dirt off his clothes and stood checking himself to make sure he wasn’t hurt.
He looked at his clothes and said, “Thank God, nothing happened.”
Then he looked at the hole and said, “This is a very bad hole. People should be careful.”
The farmer said to him, “On the contrary, you should be careful.”
The fool nodded and said, “Yes, yes, I will be much more careful from now on.”
Then he continued on his way.
But strangely, after he got out of the hole, nothing changed in his habit.
He kept looking up at the sky and gazing at the clouds, as if he had completely forgotten that he had fallen into a hole moments before because of this habit.
The farmer watched him from afar, shaking his head and saying, “This man will never learn.”
The fool continued on his way, gazing at the sky and talking to himself about the birds, the clouds, the sun, and the wind.
He said to himself that a person should know what is happening around them, and therefore he should always observe the sky.
As he was talking to himself, he approached another hole.
This hole was bigger than the first one and was located in the middle of the road.
Anyone could easily see it because it was wide and very clear.
But the fool didn’t see it because he was busy watching a small bird flying above the trees.
He said, “How beautiful that bird is!”
Then he took another step.
Then another step.
Suddenly, the bird stopped flying and disappeared behind a tree.
Only at that moment did the fool lower his head.
And there was the hole, right in front of him.
He stopped in his tracks and exclaimed, “Wow!”
He looked at the hole, then at the sky, then back at the hole.
After a few moments, he said, “Ugh, I’m going to fall again!”
He remembered the first hole.
He stood in front of the hole, not knowing what to do.
He thought to himself, “I can’t possibly fall in there again.”
Then he started looking for a way around it.
He looked to his right and saw a narrow path.
He looked to his left and saw a fence.
He looked back and realized he had traveled a long way.
Then he looked at the hole again.
He said, “This hole looks a lot like the first one.”
Then he thought for a moment and said, “Maybe it’s the same hole.”
A man who was passing by overheard him talking and said, “This isn’t the hole you fell into a little while ago.”
The fool said, “How do you know?”
The man said, “Because the first hole was quite far behind you.”
The fool said, “Maybe it moved.”
The man laughed and said, “Holes don’t move, man.”
The fool said, “Don’t be so sure. Maybe they move when no one is looking.”
The man laughed heartily and said, “Just stay away from it and you’ll be fine.”
The fool began searching for a place to cross without falling.
He found a large stone near the hole, picked it up, and placed it in front of him.
Then he placed another stone.
Then he began to walk very carefully over the stones.
He lifted his feet slowly and kept looking ahead.
He said to himself, “This time I won’t make a mistake.”
He moved forward a little and then reached the other side of the hole.
He was very happy and said, “I did it!”
He raised his hands to the sky and said, “Thank God!”
Then he began to laugh to himself.
He said, “I’ve learned my lesson.”
But after a few moments, he looked back at the sky.
There was a beautiful white cloud, and he began to admire it.
He said, “How beautiful the sky is today!”
At that moment, he heard a man’s voice behind him say, “Hey, fool, look ahead!”
The fool turned around quickly and said, “Why?”
The man said, “Because there’s a large stone in front of you.”
The fool looked ahead and found a huge stone in the middle of the path.
He approached it and said, “Ah, right!”
Then he turned around and continued walking.
The villagers knew that the fool didn’t mean to cause trouble for anyone and that he was actually a kind-hearted man, but he was inattentive and often lost in his own thoughts.
He liked to think about strange things and asked questions that people didn’t usually ask.
One day, someone asked him why he liked looking at the sky so much.
He replied, “Because when I look at the ground, I see holes and stones.”
And the dirt… When I look at the sky, I see clouds, birds, and light.
The man said to him, “But when you look at the sky, you fall into holes.”
The fool replied, “That’s true, but at least I know why I fell.”
Everyone laughed at his words.
Days passed, and whenever the villagers saw him on the road, they would shout from afar, “Hey, fool, look ahead!”
He would answer them, “Don’t be afraid, I’ve learned.”
Then he would look at the sky again.
Another day, the fool left his house, heading to the market. He carried a small basket, intending to buy some food.
Before he left, his mother said to him, “My son, be careful on the road.”
He told her, “Don’t worry, I’ve become an expert on roads.”
She said to him, “And you know yourself very well.”
He laughed and said, “Today I won’t fall into any holes.”
He left the house and began to walk slowly.
This time, he looked at the ground.
Whenever he saw a stone, he moved away from it.
Whenever he saw a hole, he stopped beside it.
Whenever he saw something on the road, he paid attention to it.
He walked like a soldier on a dangerous mission.
One of his friends passed by and said, “You seem to have grown wise.”
The fool replied, “Yes, I’ve learned that one must watch where one places one’s feet.”
His friend said, “Excellent.”
Then the fool asked, “Do you think I should raise my head a little?”
His friend replied, “Yes, but only after you’re sure of the path.”
The fool said, “I understand.”
He raised his head slightly.
Then he lowered it.
Then he raised it again.
He was trying to find the balance between looking up at the sky and looking down at the ground.
Suddenly, he saw a group of people running in the other direction of the road.
He asked them what had happened.
One of them said, “A cow has run away from its owner.”
The fool asked, “Where did it go?”
The man pointed to the road.
The fool said, “I must go and see what’s happening.”
He started running after them.
He completely forgot to look at the road.
After a few moments, he tripped over a stone and fell to the ground.
He sat down and said, “It seems I still need some practice.”
His friend helped him up and said, “Fool, the problem isn’t the road.”
The fool said, “I know.”
The man said, “The problem is you.”
The fool said, “I know that too.”
Then he started laughing.
He said, “Perhaps my name is Fool, but at least I know I’m a fool.”
His friend laughed and said, “That’s the first piece of wisdom I’ve heard from you.”
The fool went home in the evening, very tired.
His mother sat with him and asked, “How was your day?”
He told her, “It was a long day.”
She asked, “Did you fall into a hole?”
He said, “No.”
His mother was pleased and said, “Thank God.”
He said, “But I fell on the ground because of a stone.”
His mother put her hand on her head and said, “My son, when will you learn?”
The fool laughed and said, “Perhaps I need a road without holes or stones.”
She told him, “Even if we gave you a road of gold, you’d still find something to fall into.”
He thought for a moment, then said, “Perhaps that’s true.”
The next day, the fool decided to go to a place far from the village where there weren’t many potholes.
He chose a wide, beautiful path lined with trees.
He said to himself, “Here I’ll never fall.”
He walked calmly, looking ahead.
After a short while, he saw a small puddle in the path.
He stopped in front of it.
He said, “This isn’t a pothole.”
Then he took a step forward.
His foot slipped, and he fell into the water.
He got out completely soaked.
He sat on the ground and began to laugh.
He said, “It seems I don’t need a pothole to fall in.”
A man passed by and asked him what had happened.
The fool said, “I was walking very carefully, but the water was waiting for me.”
The man said, “Water doesn’t wait for anyone.”
The fool said, “But this puddle knew I was coming.”
The man laughed and said, “You’re a strange fellow.”
The fool said, “That’s what everyone says.”
He returned to his village, laughing at himself.
From that day forward, whenever the villagers saw him walking, they would say, “Look ahead, you fool!”
He would always reply, “Don’t worry, I’ve learned.”
But the villagers knew that the fool might forget things in a moment.
Nevertheless, they didn’t hate him.
On the contrary, they liked him because his presence among them made their days more joyful.
If he ever got into trouble, he wouldn’t get angry or blame others; instead, he would laugh and say, “Perhaps I should have been more careful.”
One day, the fool stood before a group of children and said, “Listen, my children.”
The children gathered around him, knowing his words would be funny.
He told them, “When you walk along the road, don’t look up at the sky all the time.”
The children laughed.
One of them asked, “Why?”
He replied, “Because holes are in the ground, not in the sky.”
The children laughed heartily.
Then he said, “If you see a hole, stay away from it.”
A child asked, “Have you ever fallen into a hole?”
The fool was silent for a moment.
Then he said, “Yes.”
The child asked, “How many times?”
The fool looked up at the sky and said, “I don’t remember.”
Everyone laughed.
Then the fool said, “But I’ve learned something important.”
The children asked him, “What did you learn?”
He said, “I learned that the road requires open eyes.
And if you want to look at the sky, first stop walking.”
The children were silent for a moment, then they started laughing again.
From that time on, this saying became famous in the village.
People would say it whenever someone was about to do something without paying attention to their surroundings: “Watch out, fool!”
And the fool would hear them and laugh.
One day, he walked down the same path where he had fallen the first time.
He stopped in front of the hole.
He looked at it for a long time.
Then he smiled and said, “Do you remember me?”
The hole was just as it had been.
He approached it a little, then stepped back.
He said, “I won’t fall into you again.”
Then he raised his head to the sky and said, “But I will always love looking at the clouds.”
Then he walked on, looking straight ahead.
After a few steps, he raised his head slightly.
Then he lowered it.
Then he raised it again.
He was trying to apply the lesson he had learned.
As he walked, he heard a voice behind him say, “Hey, you fool, watch out!”
He turned around quickly and said, “What is it?”
The man said, “Nothing.”
The fool said, “Thank God.”
The man laughed and said, “I just wanted to see if you still remembered.”
The fool laughed and said, “I’ll never forget.”
Then he continued on his way.
But after a very short while, he passed over a small hole without seeing it.
He tripped and fell to his knees.
He sat down and looked up at the sky.
Then he said, “It seems I needed one last lesson.”
After a few moments, he got up and brushed the dust off his clothes.
Then he looked at the road and said, “It’s alright.
The important thing is that I’m out.”
He continued walking, laughing.
And every time he fell, he learned something new.
His real flaw wasn’t that he fell into holes.
Rather, his flaw was that he forgot the lesson quickly.
However, he had a kind heart andHe loved people and was always ready to help others.
That’s why the villagers forgave him and laughed with him.
His story was passed from house to house.
Even the children knew it and told it to anyone who came to the village.
They would say, “There was a man called the Fool.
He was walking and looking up at the sky.
Then he fell into a hole.
He got out.
Then he found another hole in front of him.
He said, ‘Ugh, I’m going to fall in again!'”
Everyone would laugh when they heard the story.
But behind the laughter was a simple lesson.
A person can dream and look at the beautiful things in life.
They can raise their eyes to the sky and wish for the best.
But they must also pay attention to the path they are walking on.
Because whoever looks too far ahead and forgets what is under their feet may fall into the first hole they encounter.
And the problem might not be the hole itself.
It might be that they didn’t notice it.
And that’s why the fool always said at the end of his story:
Look up at the sky when you’re standing.
And look down at the road when you’re walking.
And if you fall, don’t cry too much.
Get out of the hole, dust yourself off, and keep going.
For life is full of holes.
And the wise person is not the one who never falls.
But the one who falls, then gets up, learns, and tries again.
But the fool would say, “I’ve learned this lesson.”
Then he’d raise his head to the sky and forget everything.
And that’s why the fool remained a fool.
And his story continued to amuse the villagers, generation after generation.
Everyone who heard it would laugh first.
Then they would remember something important.
That a person shouldn’t live oblivious to what lies ahead.
For the hole might be very close.
And the next step might determine whether they continue on their way standing or sit down again in the dirt.
But the fool continued on his way.
Whenever he saw a hole, he would move away from it.
And whenever he saw a bird in the sky, he would glance at it briefly.
Then he would look back straight ahead.
Sometimes he would forget.
And when he forgot, the villagers would shout from afar:
“Hey, you fool! Look ahead!”
And he would answer them loudly:
“I am looking!”
“I am looking!”
Then he would laugh and continue on his way.
And so the man who kept falling into holes remained one of the most amusing people in the village.
His story reminded everyone that laughing at our mistakes might be better than getting angry about them.
And that falling isn’t the end of the road.
We might fall once.
And we might fall again.
And we might say, like a fool, “Ugh, I’m going to fall again!”
But the important thing is to get out of the hole.
And to continue on our way.
The lesson from the fool who looked to the sky is simple: pay attention.
And to try next time to look ahead before we raise our heads to the sky.
